Job Summary
CLEARink Displays Inc. is seeking a talented Electro-Optical Scientist with a passion for development and commercialization of cutting edge display technologies to lead the development of display driving algorithms at CLEARink. Working closely with Electrical Engineers, Optical Physicists and Chemists, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to understand electro-optical phenomena on the CLEARink display technology and to develop and implement optimal driving waveforms for customer applications.

Responsibilities
We will rely heavily on the candidate as a key member of a cross-functional team with members skilled in optics and materials to understand the electro-optical characteristics of the CLEARink display module and optimize performance. Additional responsibilities include:

• Research and develop reproducible optical response with different voltage driving on simple test cells and TFTs.
• Design test plans to quantify and qualify the electrical-optic display performance
• Participate in electrical-optical lab design and setup
• Analyze the display on test cell and TFT modules for electrical and optical behavior.
• Design new electrical-optical driving mechanism for every new TFT test build
• Provide functional design recommendation for TFT driving electronics
• Participate in display subsystem design review
• Research on waveform algorithms

Key Qualifications
• BS in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering or Applied Math; MS preferred
• 2-5 years’ experience with electronics devices and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and function generators
• Must be self-driven, always curious and have a passion to understand how things work
• Have excellent troubleshooting skills and tenacity
• Ability to work in a fast paced startup environment
• Great documentation skills, experimental design, and result recording
• Knowledge of a broad range of optics including imaging, illumination, radiometry and photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarization.
• Knowledge and experience with color science, colorimetry, and visual optics
• Programming experience: Labview and Matlab, C/C++ is beneficial
• Familiarity with optical metrology tools and setup for image quality testing.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Labview

Job Summary
CLEARink Displays Inc. is seeking an electrical engineer for the Display Engineering Team for the development and qualification of drivers and chips for CLEARink’s reflective display products. This individual will be working on driver and IC components and system level, serving as a focal point between the system design team, the display team, display mechanical, display panel, the supply base management team, the display module suppliers, driver and IC suppliers, managing all activities necessary to deliver drivers and ICs into final products from initial concept to production.

Responsibilities
We will rely heavily on the candidate as a key member of a cross-functional team with members skilled in optics and materials to understand the electro-optical characteristics of the CLEARink display module and optimize performance. Additional responsibilities include:

• Evaluate various driver ICs and TFT designs for compatibility.
• Evaluate various low-power CPUs for compatibility with Driver IC usage.
• Define the driver IC and TFT specifications for new reflective display products.
• Create test plans to validate driver IC, TFT and new reflective display performance.
• Perform test validation on driver IC, TFT and new reflective display.
• Perform energy usage analysis on the display subsystem and target customer system.
• Perform image analysis, interpret test results, and recommend solution to failures.
• Interface with Driver, Controller, and CPU vendors for new reflective display system compatibility and new future designs.
• Review test results from the driver and IC component vendors, system OEMs, and cross-functional groups at suppliers and partners to validate that performance specifications are met.
• Perform the necessary simulation to validate and predict device (i.e. SPICE simulation for TFT) operating behavior.
• Perform analog/digital circuit design, board layout, and circuit simulation using Electronic Design Automation tools.
• Perform testing/troubleshooting of electrical systems and develop new reflective electronic designs.
• Design, develop and maintain test platforms for various technical groups (optical, mechanical, chemist).
• Contribute to Driver IC, TFT, device and test platform roadmap definition.

Key Qualifications
• BS in Engineering, Physics or Electrical Engineering; MS preferred
• Verilog/System Verilog digital design experience.
• Ability to work in a fast paced start-up environment,
• Experience specifying and designing ICs (analog and digital)
• C/C++ coding experience for embedded devices
• Linux and RTOS knowledge
• Excellent experiment documentation and planning
• Knowledge and experience in image data processing and analysis.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
